Kate is an independent Speech & Language Therapist based in Croydon. Kate offers assessment, advice and therapy to adults who have difficulties in communication and/or swallowing. Some examples of things that might cause difficulties include stroke, head injury, Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neuron Disease or dementia. Kate can see clients in their own homes or any other setting that they feel comfortable in.

About Kate
Speech & Language Therapist
Kate studied at University College London, graduating in 1999 with a BSc (Hons) in Speech Sciences. She has worked in a variety of settings in the NHS, always with adults. For 12 years Kate held a Principal SLT post, working in a large inner London borough, providing communication and swallowing help to people in their own homes, clinics, workplaces, colleges and care homes. Since then she has worked independently for a variety of individuals and organisations including regional Neuro Rehab centres.
Kate has maintained her clinical professional development in part through attendence at various courses and seminars, as well as engaging in individual and peer supervision, and was for 7 years the Chair of the RCSLT Special Interest Group for Speech & Language Therapists working in domicilliary and community settings. She is a LSVT (Lee Silverman Voice Treatment) certified clinician.
Kate is a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (www.rcslt.org) and the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Private Practice (ASLTIP, www.helpwithtalking.com). She is HCPC registered (www.hcpc-uk.org), is registered with the ICO (www.ico.org.uk) and is a registered provider for private medical insurers.
